Keely’s story began with a somersault and a dream. Her fusion of decorated gymnastics prowess and a decade of dance experience set the stage for her evolution into a multifaceted performing artist. Graduating from the prestigious National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) in 2015, Keely took flight—literally—as a soloist with Circus Aotearoa, mastering aerial slings, tight wire, and group comedy acrobatics under the traditional big top in New Zealand.

 

But the circus was just the beginning. Returning to Australia, Keely reinvented herself as Ariel Onyx, her sultry and magnetic burlesque alter ego. Combining stage presence with jaw-dropping skills, she became a fire-breathing, fan-dancing, award-winning sensation. From winning Burlesque Idol Australia and Nudie Nubie’s Down Under to earning international accolades as a nude model, Keely has proven time and again that she’s a star who thrives in the spotlight.

 

Her artistry has lit up iconic venues like Brisbane City Hall, The Tivoli, and Melbourne’s Crown Casino, and festivals such as Brisbane Festival, Adelaide Fringe, and Perth Fringe WORLD. Whether she’s spinning fire at NAFA or headlining GLOW Fest 2023, Keely captivates audiences with her fearless performances and mischievous charm.

 

Offstage, Keely is the creative force behind Brisbane’s beloved Keely’s Face Painting, spreading joy one brushstroke at a time. When she’s not setting stages alight, you’ll find her recharging in the great outdoors, always plotting her next dazzling act.
